We purchased a Hoover vacuum cleaner from Amazon.com
Shipment #1 from Amazon – Package had been opened and pilfered. Brushes and accessory items missing. Package returned to Amazon.com…..
Shipment #2 – Requested replacement instead of refund. Amazon shipped us the exact same pilfered package that we had just returned…….
Shipment #3 – Requested another replacement. Amazon shipped a different package, but it also had been pilfered and was missing accessories…
We returned the third shipment and requested a refund! We bought one locally at Wal-mart…. Should have done that in the first place!

1. no way to turn off the brush
2. it doesnt suck as much as a dyson, i used both for for a long time and it doesnt have the suction of a dyson
3. the small dirt in carpets that dyson took out doesnt come all the way out in this one.
4. filter is not as good as in a dyson either. air quality is not as clean as in dyson which seemed to freshen the air as it vacuumed.
5. if you have a pet get a dyson PERIOD.

my wife loves this vacuum. everything works great. good suction, easy to clean, it was an easy choice at this price. I would give this vacuum a 4 star rating but I gave it 3 stars on amazon because I found the same model at costco for $20 less.

My dear last Hoover lasted 18 years, thru two kids, and 14 years with one big black Chow-Chow girl. I really felt bad when finaly my Hoover “bit the dust.” It was like an old friend. My 30+ year old Maytag died on me about 3 months previous. I have stayed with the rock solid companies – Maytag – Hoover – Maytag – Hoover. My new Hoover has great suction on the floor – but with the attachments there is something lacking. I saved the old attachments, tried them on the new, but it still wasn’t the same.

I’ve only had my Hoover two years and the self – propelled mechanism broke several months ago. The belt that turned the beater brush already stretched out of shape and so the beater brush didn’t work on carpet. I got another Hoover replacement belt, and then the brush didn’t want to move at all, Two years later, I’m looking for another vacuum. It won’t be this Hoover; and probably not a Hoover at all.
